Drum Chipper
BackHome
DEMUTH DPF Drum Chippers are extremely simple machines with updated constructive characteristics, which to considerably increase efficiency and durability. The machines were projected after observing and using several equipament in operation.

Considering that drum chippers are equipment initially used in countries of essentially tropical woods, they were properly projected and the experience proved to be machines of very long durability, high versatility and low maintenance.

Applicable for timber chipping, whether round or in waste shape, from saw mills or rolling mills, they transform irregular and difficult to handle material in a high quality, uniform and multiple application product.

In special version, the chippers can also chip copper wire scraps, waste paper, films, carpets, sacks and others

Equipment Description
Material is introduced into the machine through the feeding belt (15) up to the toothed roller system (8). These rollers thrust the hardened teeth in the material pressing it against the rotor (3), to force material in-feed. The upper rollers hood pivoting (7) around the shaft (9) keeps processing material between the toothed rollers. Material, when pressed against the rotor, is cut in regular lengths by knives (5), and first counter-knife (11) and then discharged by the incorporated screen (10).

Particles badly chipped (oversized) are re-chipped at the second counter-knife (2).

Changes in the nominal chips length are easily obtained by changing the gear motor feeding system, drum rotation, knife quantity and in-feed speed.

Feeding

Picador_Tambor_Al

Feeding rollers with interchangeable segments manufactured in structural quality steel that guarantee simplicity, longer useful life and changing agility.

Rotor

Picador_Tambor_Rotor

Extremely sturdy rotor structure with project that reduces the superficial wearing. Knives fixing is done through overdimensioned clamps and bolts that avoid any knife returning possibility, whichever material type is processed.
Rotor is fixed at the shaft through pressure conical rings.

First Counter-Knife

Picador_Tambor_Pri_Ctra_Faca

Useful and re-sharpened on four sides, the first counter-knife is easily removed and changed. No checking position required.

Bi-parted comb with interchangeable counter-knife clamp.

Second Counter-Knife

Picador_Tambor_Seg_Ctr_Faca

Built-in and strongly fixed to the main frame, assuring more stability during re-chipping process.

Screen

Picador_Tambor_Peneira

Sturd incorporated screen properly manufactured according to each material type, guarantees processing material selection.

Elastic Coupling

Starting base for motors with driving power higher than 150 KW are provided with motor pulley between bearings and elastic coupling to reach efficient power transmission.

Security

Picador_Tambor_Seg Picador_Tambor_Seg_g

Many items guarantee operational security to the equipment:

- mechanical device, with hood bearings, rotor and counter-knifes locking;

- electrical sensors to avoid involuntary motor starting;

- hydraulic valves for immediately blocking in case of piping damage.
