Wear Plate Detailed Refurbishing Service Program

The wear plates are one of the most important issues in a chipper performance.Therefore, Demuth designed a detailed working process to perform the service:

Initial Inspection: All parts are measured and identified, in order to be easily found during the refurbishing process and even later at the end-users.

Recovering: Filling up with alloy based material on the wearing surfaces, where the metal layer is completely worn-out.

Helicoidal Surface: Finishing the surface profile, restoring the original helicoidal shape.

Anti-wearing coat: Thermospray application based on NI Cr B Si + WC alloy ( tungsten carbide ) followed by high temperature sintering.

Thermal Spraying and Sintering Process

Knife support: Knife support face welding-filling and milling, using a gauge that gives the original building conditions from the block to the disc chipper, restoring the original conditions and warranting that all knives keep the same distance from the counter-knife, important factor for chip quality.

Balancing: All parts are balanced and weighed in order to avoid possible vibrations problems during operation.

Bolts and Threads: All bolts are inspected and threads replaced whwn necessary.

Final Inspection: Any refurbished part is provided with a final inspectio report, where all tecnical service data is recorded.

The parts are received at Demtuh, where they are carefully inspected and measured and, after a complete refurbishing program, they go back to quality control to receive the Quality Guaranteed Program Certificate
